Philosophical Interlocutors

Daya Krishna has been throughout his life highly committed to the idea of dialogue (saṃvāda). He not only conceived his teaching dialogically and organized dialogues between philosophical traditions, but also continuously engaged his readers and the authors he referred to in his writings. The resources here are focused around those philosophers and thinkers who dialogued over and over with Daya Krishna, contributed to the saṃvādas and influenced his philosophy.

edited by R. S. Bhatnagar (with an introduction by Yogesh Gupta) (2013), UGC, ASIHSS Programme, Department of Philosophy, University of Rajasthan and Literary Circle, Jaipur.

  • Introduction (extract): "If one goes through any of the writings of the late Prof. Daya Krishna (September 17, 1924 October 5, 2007), and recalls an informal discussion with him or any of the lectures given by him, one can prepare a list of themes for research in the subject in addition to those writings which he had published under the sections AGENDA FOR RESEARCH, FOCUS, NOTES AND QUERIES (ARFNQ) of the Journal of Indian Council of Philosophical Research (JICPR). The present work Agenda for Research in Indian and Western Philosophy is a compilation of his complete writings published under the above mentioned sections/headings, which were introduced by him in his editorship of the Journal."
